Having grown up watching my mother, and many others like her create beautiful, detailed quilts, the main goal of the majority of my work is to combine these disciplines with more modern art forms. I hope to help the tradition of quilting transition into the art community through different mediums, including painting, ceramics, and printmaking.
Through working closely with artists such as Jinny Beyer, and Paula Nadelstern, I have seen this craft begin to become more than a simple, practical tradition; It has become it’s own form of art, where the possibilities are endless. While the general public is typically unaware of this movement, quilts as art are growing rapidly in popularity, and I hope to aid them do so.
I'm also painting people's pets on commission, email me if interested. All animals welcome :)
